World Future Energy Summit
Siemens took part in the World Future Energy Summit (January 15-17, 2013) in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of addressing climate change and developing renewable energy resources.
The World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was an opportunity for policy makers, industry leaders and businesses to meet and discuss renewable energy solutions. Technology is one of the strongest forces for combating the negative consequences of climate change. And most of the technological solutions that hold the key to our success are already available today. The World Future Energy Summit is an international assembly focusing on developing clean technologies and creating a sustainable future of energy. In 2012, Siemens green products and solutions helped our customers conserve 332 million metric tons of CO2 – we are contributing with our green technologies here and now!
From January 15-17, 2013, Siemens welcomed visitors to World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. WFES 2013 included a show floor feature expanding to a year round online portal to bring local talent on the fast-track in providing industry related career advice, creating job connections, creating awareness for local training institutions, and connecting companies and talented individuals to fill vacancies locally and solve workforce issues in the community.
For the future of energy, a sustainable energy system with a wide range of measures regarding sustainable generation, intelligent distribution, and efficient consumption is required. Solutions differ across regions, as do various forms of energy use and technologies. The Middle East is able to increase buildings‘ energy efficiency, increase efficiency of fossil power plants and make desalination plants more environmentally-friendly.
In Abu Dhabi and the wider Middle East, Siemens’ technology is already contributing to greater energy efficiency. And as a leader in climate protection technologies and green urban infrastructure, we are working around the world today to find enduring answers for the world of tomorrow – a sustainable future that balances the planet, people and profits.
